the buildings at pompanuck are constructed with natural, alternative techniques including cordwood masonry and straw-bale. The Roundhouse has accommodations for 8 in four rooms. The Guesthouse offers a quiet refuge for two or three. The Yurts can be used as alternative housing or class space and the woodfired sauna is a welcome refuge at the end of a long day. Pompanuck's swimming and goldfish ponds are cold-spring fed, powered by solar pumps. The vegetable, flower and fruit tree gardens are organic and meditative.

the roundhouse serves as the center of Pompanuck's many activities. It contains most of our sleeping, dining and work space. It is a very comfortable and flexible building where there is wireless Internet access, distinct meeting areas and rustically elegant comfort.

Upstairs in the Roundhouse is our sun-soaked Great Room, which is a flexible use space. This room has been the site of many of the lectures, concerts and classes held at Pompanuck. It has the capacity to seat 50+ people comfortably for lectures and concerts and can be used for movement classes (Tai Ji, Yoga, and Dance) for 10-18 participants. The Great Room can also be converted into an intimate "living room" with couches and comfortable chairs for smaller meetings and retreats. There is a full balcony running around the exterior of this room, accessed by French doors, looking out over our gardens and grounds. Many fine musicians have noted that this room is remarkable for its excellent sound quality and intimacy.

On the First Floor is our commercial kitchen, in which we have prepared meals for as many as 100 people in two seatings per night for our Music and Meals evenings. This floor also contains our office and laundry facilities.

In the Roundhouse, we have five bedrooms, (one downstairs and three up) -three which contain a comfortable king size bed that can be converted to two twin beds for shared accommodations. (The fourth has two twin beds.) There is an additional small single room as well. These rooms are simply and comfortably appointed with a quiet and balanced aesthetic. At present, there are two shared bathrooms (one on each floor) with tub/showers, sink and commode. Inexpensive tent camping is also available with equipment rental if requested and list of local B&Bs and motels are made available to registrants for retreat overflow. The Roundhouse also holds our lending library containing over four thousand books of diverse topics and interest.
